OOPS!!!

I just realized I did the wrong author for Founding Mothers on the schedule, it is Cokie Roberts not Doris Kearns Goodwin. Sorry for the mix up.

"Enchanted, Inc" by Shanna Swendson

My sister introduced me to this book and I am in love. It is basically Harry Potter meets chic lit.

The basic premise is that Katie grew up in Texas and moves to New York with some friends. She had heard New York had odd people, but she didn't realize how odd. She sees people with wings, things that seem to move for unexplainable reasons and other odd things. She decided she must not have been in New York long enough for this to seem normal. Then she is recruited by a company specializing in magic where she learns the reason she sees these strange things is because there is magic in the world but she doesn't have any and is, consequently, immune to it.

It is entertaining and enjoyable. There is a some language, but it is pretty mild. I currently have my sister putting the rest of the books in the series on hold in the Salt Lake Library system for me to pick up this weekend at her baby's blessing. I can't wait to see what happens next.

Good Author

My sister recommended David Baldacci to me and I just finished Stone Cold which I really enjoyed. If you like Thrillers but want them cleaner (very little language, no graphic details, etc.) you should check him out. Sherrie mentioned that not all of his are thrillers so it should be a good mix. Another bonus, the Providence Library has a lot of his books.

"If Life were Easy it Wouldn't be Hard" by Sheri Dew

Give someone a lift! Following a series of misadventures trying to get to Nauvoo on an airplane with several nieces and nephews, Sheri Dew writes that she was ready to scrap the trip and just go home. My sister lent this to me a while back and I have really enjoyed Sister Dew's insights. It has helped remind me of the reason we have challenges and some ideas of how to get through them.
